my husband, Richard, and my furbabies Ivy (shihtzu), Nala and George (mutt cats).
About Me:
My grandparents were farmers, but through my life I've mostly been an apartment-dweller. I have tried to buy locally, use my windowsill gardens to grow salad greens and filter my personal air, and make responsible "green" choices. I learned to make my own soap and beauty products, to cook primarily from scratch, to reuse and reduce waste. We have only one car and soon will be moving to a place where we can walk nearly everywhere (including to work for my husband). This will also mean a yard (!!) for the first time in years. One of our goals in moving is to spend this summer growing much of our own produce. Because we'll be in a small condo unit, we won't have much space, and I started googling growing food in small yards, and came upon the Little Homestead in the City site. I'm inspired now with what we can do with our space rather than thinking about what we can't.
Interests:
Knitting, crocheting, jazz, alternative and folk music, reading, swimming, gardening, great coffee - one vice I'll never be able to give up I think!
