Some of my earliest memories are helping my grandfather pull carrots on their small farm (which is no longer). My mother has kept a small garden my entire life, always with tomatoes. I'm trying to hook my niece early on the joy of watching plants grow and get her past her hesitance over getting dirty (such a girl!)
About Me:
I dream of a homestead one day from which I can provide the majority of my family's food. My significant other and I just bought our first home and we have big gardening plans! I am working on my doctorate. I am a mostly vegetarian for ethical, health, and environmental reasons.

reading, gardening, cooking, food preservation, supporting local and sustainable agriculture, politics, exercising, spending time with friends and family
